The Benefits of Thankfulness

I sought an older, wiser man than myself to help me with my problems and he reminded me that I should be grateful for the good things in my life. He said I could speak to him while I watched my cat outside and he said he liked cats and that’s something I could be thankful for.

“The best thing to be thankful for,” he said, “is we get to spend eternity with God.”

That’s because Jesus paid the price for our dirty, filthy lives.

He said we get to know Jesus by reading the Bible. “The Bible says that Jesus is the word of God.,” he said.

He spoke a lot. He has many followers. And most of them are very wise.

“The Bible says to think about positive things…”

“What are those positive things?” I asked.

“Everything in the Bible.”

Jesus Christ is here, on earth, in the form of the Bible, I thought.

“Paul the Apostle wrote about thankfulness while he was in prison,” he said.

Thankfulness conquers evilness, I thought. There is so much evil in this world, but God is not always going to get rid of it, right now, we must go through it to build our faith in him. We will keep going back to him to help us. It is a mysterious love. We will always wonder. We’re often wondering. For eternity we’ll be wondering…

I’m thankful I spoke with the wise man. He probably prayed for me so, that’s why.

On the online concordance I found Bible verses to memorize to institute thankfulness into my life.

I hope you’ve noticed this whole article was written in the spirit of thankfulness. And I hope it’s contagious, not necessarily to replace the evil in the world, but to help us deal with it.
