Nothing seemed to be wrong when Glenn Longo drove to work. But his car wouldn’t start at lunchtime. Glenn had left his lights on. He couldn’t believe how he could leave the lights on, but had to accept that such things happen. Fortunately, the steer farm had a portable charger and Glenn’s co-workers helped him. The car barely started, but when it did, he let it run for a while, to recharge the battery.
A couple of days later, Glenn, again, had trouble starting the car. So, he called his boss and told him he wasn’t coming in to work. “You’re calling at the last minute,” Joshua Davis said.
“I just found out,” Glenn explained.
“The cattle have to be led around the hill,” Joshua said. “And Denmar Potpota’s children will spook the cattle…”
Joshua convinced Glenn to come to work. He promised him he would look at his car to figure out how to handle it. He told him to leave the engine running to charge-up the battery, because he might not have let it charge-up enough the day before.
After Glenn had let the car run for a while, it started again.
At the end of the day, Glenn had to get the car checked to see if it was a problem with the battery or something worse. His friend at the shop had the battery checked and it had to be replaced. The car ran well after that, so, the battery was the only thing wrong.
Glenn was glad he had listened to his boss, and pleased him, and got his car fixed, and that everybody was happy.
You’re the perfect doctor
operating in my life
You’re not out there, knocking
Nothing will keep you outside
I don’t have the strength
To be truly brave
I don’t always follow
Thinking, often, of my rights
First, I’m with you, solid
Then, with lost ones in the night
When I want to stay
I want to remain
You won’t leave me stranded
Everybody knows it’s true
With an understanding
No one’s the same as you
You help me to be brave
In the noonday sun most would turn and run You still have your gun I need your pure love
Stronger than a bull tamer than a horse gentler than a lamb you’re all these and more
Wise can truly see I don’t have a chance Mercy, none have seen You come take my hand
You help me to be brave
I shout out your name
You help me to be brave
