You’re Taking Care of Things

I drive an old junky car
but it’s gotten me so very far
I don’t idolize it, that’s for sure
so we know just who, indeed’s, in charge

We’re going the same way

You are my closest, nearest friend
Thank you, God, that I will pass each test
I have realized that, so I’ve grown
and I’m wholly with you, every step

And no one is ashamed

You make it easy for me to say
you’re taking care of things

I had a mole that they removed
and the doctor said it wasn’t fine
Well, it traumatized me and they saw
They assured me that I wouldn’t die

I know that I’ll be safe

Things are not – no – the way I’d want
when I’m far from your warm, saving arms
Overscrutinizing, and I run
back to you and all bad wants are gone

And so, the heart is tamed

You make it easy for me to say
you’re taking care of things

You’re, of course, all I need
This, I know, very deep inside
I’ll be reminded and assured of it
time after time
and day after day

You make it easy for me to say
you’re taking care of things

And when I speak of our team
you’re, of course, what I mean

You make it easy for me to say
you’re taking care of things
