God Saves His Friends

In the time of Noah
wickedness had covered earth
People panicked over
water that was flooding earth

It seemed like it was the end
but the theme of the Bible is
God saves his people
He saves his friends

In the time of Moses
Pharaoh had a hardened heart
Plagues made him colder
Israel cried out to God

It seemed like it was the end
but the theme of the Bible is
God saves his people
He saves his friends
over and over, again

In the time of Esther
Haman tried to kill the Jews
Wicked men against her
Satan’s style of selfish rule

It seemed like it was the end
but the theme of the Bible is
God saves his people
He saves his friends

In the time of Jesus
enemies put him on trial
scattering his people
Friends were fearing for their lives

It seemed like it was the end
but the theme of the Bible is
God saves his people
He saves his friends
repeatedly, to the end

Good Friday Jesus was crucified
(as it is good that he gave his life)
Easter Sunday he had risen from the grave
The theme of the Bible is
God saves his people
He saves his friends
It’s consistent, as he’s said:
“You are my friends,
if you do whatsoever I command you.”

Happy Good Friday and Easter Sunday!
