God’s Reign

What follows after storms is calm and peaceful
the tears that fall from God fall hard and even

I’m not real sorry, no day to worry
the weather’s changing, few ask for mercy

The faith of our good Lord is ours to reason
he gave us his strong love, we’re hard as priest-kings

They worship power with little lovers
they want their getting but not God’s justice

Over and over it goes, until the day it ends
Patiently waiting through rain, for Jesus, my best friend

In storms we all must do what’s most important
I keep my eyes on Christ, his bride he’s called me

And he’s my Lover, as I’m a steward
but he’s my Husband, so I’m a ruler

Over and over it goes, until the day it ends
Patiently waiting through rain, for Jesus, my best friend

He says, “You are my friends if
you do whatsoever I command you.”

That means everything in the Bible

This, I’ve done

And the Comforter will abide with me forever
