Yesterday, my supervisor was letting us listen to his young son say “Mama” for the first time on his phone. Needless to say, he was excited and proud of his son. It’s great to have a proud dad. Yesterday, I also treated my dad to dinner, and he was glad. This morning, I’m listening to Johann Sebastian Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos. This beautiful music was rejected by the king but that hardly means a thing. Bach is one of the most popular composers ever and father of other successful composers.
All these fathers benefited from The Greatest Father of All Time. It is a test, for you, to guess who he is. To know the Father it helps to know the sons. In the Bible’s Luke Chapter 15 story of the Prodigal (Lost) Son, both the foolish young son, who wasted all his resources, and the judgmental elder son, who criticized the father and the son, were evil, at first, but turned-out to be good; but the Father was always good. We all love this story of the father and his sons because we can all relate to the tests the characters went through.
God the Father is the power of the universe. If his book is perfectly understood, he’s your best friend (“Our Father”); if not, he’s your worst enemy (“if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses”). His book is the biggest bestseller of all-time. Every year it sells the most, but this information is covered-up by evil people. This is nothing new.
Once you study the Bible you’ll see your self-esteem rise and you’ll become more successful because God blesses the good (like his readers). Bach was a Christian and was not discouraged by the king’s bad taste. Psalm 37 says: “Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” I hope you try to read it and “Be still, and know that I am God” to realize God in your life.
Happy Father’s Day to all fathers, but especially the most important one!
