Where are we headed every day?
What do they think they’re doing?
We are now going separate ways
One of two paths I’m choosing
turning my back, unsmoothly
chiefly, God’s map I’m using
The earth is cursed
“Thou shalt have no other gods before me,”
the LORD says
The reprobates will die in their sin
This life is the best it gets
for them
But for us it only gets better
And it always gets better
Yes, it always gets better
What are we thinking in our hearts?
It is a frightening country
Who is now ruling as our God?
Is he a perfect lover?
Making it pure and lovely?
Are we his loyal subjects?
Strangers and pilgrims on the earth
They that say such things declare plainly
they seek a country
They desire a better country, a heavenly
and God isn’t ashamed to be called their God
He has prepared for them a city
So, for us it only gets better
And it always gets better
Yes, it always gets better
Hold on! to God’s promises
’cause the LORD’S our only provider
it’s Jesus’s faith, not ours
Jesus Christ the Provider
Hold on! to the LORD Jesus Christ
sticking close to his side
Give me the items that I need
I demand rather boldly
And I get all the things I seek
From his hands as he holds me
And I stand, as he owns me
Understand: I’m a goldfield
We have a great high priest
that is past into the heavens
Jesus the Son of God
let us hold fast our profession
So, for us it only gets better
And it always gets better
Yes, it always gets better
Hold on! to God’s promises
’cause the LORD’S our only provider
it’s Jesus’s faith, not ours
Jesus Christ the Provider
Hold on! to the LORD Jesus Christ
sticking close to his side
Read the Bible, fortify yourself, and pray
for the day to day
Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not unto your own understanding
In all your ways acknowledge him
and he shall direct your paths
