The Builder and the House

Thank you, LORD, for the first day of the week
where we should be with you
Sunday’s the place for us until this place is replaced
After that, it’ll be every place, our whole life
And it’s such a beautiful time
‘Cause it’s from a beautiful mind

LORD, we were created to worship you and
glorify you
but disobeyed and so,
today the world is hell
And you’ve arranged to have it be this way
to make us love only you (and we do)
You’ve also made it so we’re not ashamed of you
like the reprobates
so, you aren’t ashamed of us (we’ll get to heaven)

This day is like a mirror
And, strangely, compared to what I’m seeing
the mirror’s much clearer
A grave, the world is
And with skeletons it’s littered
Your place is where I sit and
just gaze outside your window

They say, “He said…” “She said…”
and say, “I did…” “We did…”
but not, “God says…” “God does…”
like me, and you, and us

You’re seated high in the sky
and Jesus went to be by your side
where we will get to live in a matter of time

With your house is a revival
In your house is a revival
Even though we’ve got miles to go on the highway
it’s an honor we’re invited
Your church, with eternal eyes and
ears with minds and mouths speaking kindness
and your bride who’s at your side al-
though the body’s known some violence
as my friend who’s always dying
through intensive Godly fire
and the end of your set timeline
but till then you are my lifeline
