I Will Never Leave You

How can we know we’re on our way to heaven?
We’re loving the Bible
and that’s a kind of evidence of tests God’s made
How can we know we’ll always be together?
We’ve been with God’s people
and we are still good friends with them (accepted, then)

Since God has brought us this far
we can be confident of a lot

Of course, he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you”

How can we know we’ll be with God forever?
We’re often forgiving
Because we all depend on him as Jesus did
How can we know he’s making pure perfection?
We’re spreading God’s mercy
and cast impartial friendliness to everyone

In the arms of God
He won’t drop us now

Of course, he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you”
The Lord Jesus said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you”

What a difference! from where we’ve been
and a distance! to where we’ll be
Only God would pave the way
Only God could make us see
we are with him, a relationship
that he would never sever
and we could never measure

How can we walk across this treacherous desert?
By drinking the water
that heals us every step we take, that Jesus made
How can we stay and bravely suffer setbacks?
While dying, like Jesus
the body, as the head, was made to rise someday

And God is merciful
who promises to return quickly

Of course, he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you”
The Lord Jesus said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you”
Be content with such things as you have
because he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you”
