A Poem for These Times

Be discriminating with new friends, but
always listen to the best

When we listen to men and women, we often become lost
we should always listen to the LORD

Be a stoic for a few short seconds
yes, a grown-up, for your test

When we listen to men and women, we often become lost
we should always listen to the LORD

All you, saints, sit and wait, patient wait

Do not murmur to your busy friends, but
you can tell it to the best

When we listen to men and women, we often become lost
we should always listen to the LORD

Play through the boos that
give you the blues but
we won’t be losing

Never listen to such wicked men or
to their women, just accept

When we listen to men and women, we often become lost
we should always listen to the LORD

“Weeping may endure for a night
but joy cometh in the morning”, says the LORD

When we listen to men and women, we often become lost
we should always listen to the LORD
