It’s impossible for us to live good lives, that’s why we need God. Only God is good, Jesus said. It’s impossible to earn our way to live eternally in heaven because God is up there, and we are not perfect, as he is, so, we, as cold and dirty sinners, would burn up in his holy, clean, red hot passionate fire. Think of two lovers, one cold and one hot. We need to read the Bible and apply it, completely, to our lives. We have this work to do, and we are not excused from it, and it’s a sign that we do it because we love it, but God does the hard part.
