The Authority of Integrity

A helpful director like that could have the authority of integrity. Integrity is the best… Continue reading The Authority of Integrity
The humble life of an underwater crustacean
Crustaceans, such as a lobster, a crab, or a shrimp, are popular because they taste good, but nobody likes a barnacle, especially when, with an adhesive strength of sixty pounds per square inch, it attaches itself to the bottom of your boat and you can’t get it off… And it invites hundreds of… Continue reading The humble life of an underwater crustacean

Encouragement from God in discouraging times
It’s ironic that I opened the Bible the other night to Psalm 70 and wrote song lyrics about it when I wrote, just last week, that Jesus might return, imminently, because it’s been seventy years since Israel has been a modern state. There’s a lot of business to conduct in life and love. What does anyone have, to give to me? And, on the other hand, what is anyone going to take from me? It doesn’t always work out very well. One rainy night I drove home from work and my car broke down in a bad section of Trenton. As I got out of my car to walk to a convenience store down the street a voice called out to me. It was someone in a house, nearby. The family there told me it was dangerous to walk in their neighborhood. I agreed to enter their home and it was warm and dry. An African American family gave this Italian American man safe haven to call his friends to come and get him. It didn’t take long for one to come and the car even started. I thanked the kind family and my friend. I’ll never forgot their act of kindness.
This Thanksgiving may we find things to be thankful for.
