My Perfect Friend

I got to look to the future
My life will never, ever end
Because I’ve found a good route there
Because I’ve found a perfect friend

I want to keep to myself, some
just like the Amish, our old friends
And like a soldier in battle
will let the sergeant go ahead

My perfect friend, you’re all I know I need

The world has gotten much colder
It’s the beginning of the end
The world is also much bolder
It’s late to find ourselves a friend

I’m tired of seeing strangers
and fearing what is coming next
I’ve got to stay in safe places
With you, I’m taking every step

My perfect friend, you’re all I’ll ever need

Help me to be brave
Help me to face things
My friend, you make me grow

Although we’re mistreated
we’re always in season
’cause we’re like trees, planted by
the rivers of water

My leaves never wither
Though sometimes, I’m falling
you’re still with me, standing by
I’m never cut off, here

My perfect friend, you’re all I really need
