The Pilgrim

It’s all about the trust
’cause it’s a battle for our hearts
The war tore through the earth
and not a single soul’s unscarred

You don’t believe my race
and all this seems nonsensical

I’m closing off the world
like I am shutting all the blinds
and I’m extremely tired
because I’m working all the time

I’m going to a place
where there are no bad memories

We, all, suspect the man
and know he’s beating up his child
The cops don’t do a thing
in fact, they do the same at night

I’m going to a place
where there are no bad memories

You know that there’s a place
where there are no more enemies

We, all, are being tried
so that the dam’s about to break
The man behind it laughs
I think it’ll burst because of hate

I always see his face
thank God that he’s been blessing me

I’m making my election sure
so there will be an entrance for me
where everything is made brand-new
and everlasting

I’m going to that place
and it will be so heavenly

So slowly and so strange
I’m going to that place

Happy 14th anniversary, P.S.! 9/9/09 to 9/9/23
