The Shepherd’s Song

First, life was quiet: childlike sweetness, peaceful nights
The garden was kept real nice
The army was standing by

He’s the King, on the straw
who would be our new Lord

And his angels are here
separating the wheat and the tares

Since there is warfare, such dilemmas, The Divide
Though soldiers, our hearts had stopped
as most of the garden rots

Not a baby, anymore
but he prays for us all

And his angels are here
separating the wheat and the tares
I want to be here, in the end
I want to be here, when he returns
the pillar and foundation of the truth

And there’s such beauty, all around me, what a life!
And there are such peaceful nights
I can’t understand quite why

Judging earth, and its prince
he’ll return as its King

And his angels are here
separating the wheat and the tares
I want to be here, in the end
I want to be here, when he returns
the pillar and foundation of the truth

If a man finds his enemy
will he let him go on his way well?
Deliver us from the evil
Your neighbor

And his angels are here
separating the wheat and the tares
I want to be here, in the end
I want to be here, when he returns
the pillar and foundation of the truth

May they say of us:
They have been a wall to us
both by day and by night
all the days we have been with them

Physically, I don’t represent much more than a shepherd, or a sentry
but spiritually, I represent the authority of your Everlasting Lord
Your neighbor

Merry Christmas!
