What God Seeks

In 2001 my parents and I vacationed in Cape Cod and the license plates of the cars in the restaurant parking lot said Spirit of America. Inside, the people at the table next to us started singing God Bless America. In a few seconds everyone was singing along. It was a little emotional and typical of the patriotism after September 11. My parents and I are from New Jersey and hundreds of people died in the Twin Towers. After we saw the images of it the spirit of the patriotism of people of Massachusetts and New Jersey, and the entire Northeast, was evident.

What is spirit?

For the answer, ask the Lord Jesus by researching the Bible. The Bible says that the Bible is Jesus where it says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and without Him not even one thing came into being.” (John 1:1-3) That’s why I wrote “the Bible says,” and not “the Bible said,” because the Bible is Jesus and Jesus is alive since He rose from the dead after being crucified. By the way, Happy Easter!

Researching, using The Strongest Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible, that has 505 entries for spirit, by my count, the first one is “the Spirit of God hovering on the face of the waters” (Genesis 1:2) Bible research is work we are commanded by God to do: “Study to present yourself approved to God, a workman unashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth. (2 Timothy 2:15) And Jesus said, in John 4:34, “My food is that I should do the will of Him having sent Me,” so, I’m feeding others by telling them some work that God the Father wants them to do. Obeying the Bible and doing the work God wants is a sign that shows where we’ll be spending eternity.

Strong’s concordance showed Jesus also said this about spirit: “But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. For the Father also seeks such, the ones worshiping Him. God is spirit, and the ones worshiping Him must worship in spirit and truth.” (John 4:23-24) God gave the Believers new, spiritually sensitive spirits, as Ezekiel 36:26-27 says: “And I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you” but John 8:38-45 says He has kept the Unbelievers unbelieving children of the devil since our spiritual death in the Garden of Eden: “Why do you not know My speech? It is because you are not able to hear My Word. You are of the devil as father, and the lusts of your father you desire to do.”

The Holy Trinity is spirit but can become physical, as the Bible shows, with Abraham, in Genesis 18:1-2: “And Jehovah appeared to him by the oaks of Mamre. And he was sitting at the door of the tent in the heat of the day. And he lifted up his eyes and looked: and, behold, three men were standing by him. And he saw, and he ran to meet them from the entrance of the tent. And he bowed to the ground.”

Believers are seeing and worshipping in another dimension in spirit and truth as their new spirits are sensitive to the spiritual world. I wonder, is the physical world merely an image of spiritual life, but one so elaborate that we can even see, taste, touch, smell and hear spiritual things? Do the devil and men and women use crude forms of things, like AI, to deceive to get their way? We, all, worship and love, they are similar things, but the Believers are sensitive to the problems of the physical world and the benefits of the spiritual world, and the Unbelievers are not.
