The sunrise this morning was beautiful to see. There was a cloud formation that looked like a road going up to heaven. I wanted to get on it. I wondered who might have seen it, but I don’t think many look up in the sky very often.
The sun is the star of the morning. He has a supporting cast of clouds, fog, birds, the morning dew, the morning chill, and peace and quiet. But like a popular movie, not everybody goes to it because we are preoccupied by the stars in our own lives.
One star outshines all, even though he’s the furthest away, outside the universe. He’s the one we all know so well. He’s the one that gives the sun his power.
We know stars come and go. They’re popular for a while and then they fade into oblivion. But this fireball is intense and eternal. I was a dark star but now I shine a little, like a red one, a new, warm lover. Cold women won’t last a second in his white-hot passionate presence. Those dark stars are fighting but it’s the bridegroom, the bright white one, who’s destroying things by letting them destroy each other. They should ask for help from the destroyer while they can because it will only get worse for them. Why he would let me warn others is beyond me. But I’m pretty sure that the sweet deal that we’d received is over, now, and the only thing they can do is ask for mercy. He’s written a good book, by far the biggest bestseller of all time, and in it has given us stories, poetry, history, and laws, but most did not listen. Due to his power, sacrifice and counselling he has a small loyal following. Of course, we’re ignored by most.
None are always content with the best and brightest star. People mostly love, admire and worship the wrong things. They talk about who is the greatest of all time (the GOAT). I never liked that term. Originally, someone was called a goat for doing something very foolish. And goats can be very ornery. Still, they call their heroes the GOAT. If they called their heroes the best of all time, they could’ve have shortened it to the BOAT. Boats take people somewhere good, or save people, and a hero does that. But people are far from nature and each other these days. They are not natural or supernatural but unnatural. Or mechanical, after their unnatural leader of the power of the air. He’s darker than them, like a black hole, totally in it for himself.
Michael Jordan is the leading candidate for the GOAT in basketball. In my opinion, Michael Jordan was excellent at making long shots, driving to the basket, ballhandling and defense, so, I think he would be the victor in one-on-one basketball. But basketball’s not one-on-one, it’s a team sport. That’s why I’d say Wilt Chamberlain might be the best because, with his team, he was more unstoppable. Of course, there’s also the leadership and success factor, and that depends on decisions and team organizations.
We’re part of teams but we’re also individuals responsible for our own actions. None of us progresses, completely, on our own. Our future depends on leaving here but some don’t think that matters and want to try to stay here and force everyone to make this a better place. But scoffers walking after their own lusts who are willingly ignorant of how to graduate will be very sorry. They should be trying to make arrangements while they have a chance.
Life is not a sprint, it’s a marathon. Sprinters know this as well as anyone. Right now, I just want to make it to the finish line. It shouldn’t matter, completely, if we don’t come in first place in life’s race. Arrogantly trying to be number one is foolish, here. The star above all stars is number one and he smiles brightly on those who are with him at the finish line, and nothing can be sweeter than that. When the sun’s sinking low and I’m tired and dirty at the end of a long day, to be in his warm spotlight is all I’d want.
