The Captain’s Where We Win

I’d rather be serving God
than serving all the wicked
and trusting the Captain to go higher
where I won’t go to sin
I’d rather be one with God
than one who’s lost and distant
by reading and studying the Bible
and seeking after Him

And that is where we win!

I’d rather move on, with God
than stay with men and women
deceived by and keeping with the devil
no, that’s no way to live
I’m finding I’m friends with God
no slave who merely visits
completely obeying God’s commandments
the way that Jesus did

And that is where we win!
and when we truly live

I’d rather be poor with God
than rich on one short mission
The Lord will be getting me to Heaven
because we need a lift
I’d rather be asking God
than “know” and never listen
And empty, not full and be neglecting
the Holy Spirit’s Gift

And that is where we win!

The Captain’s where we win!

He says, I am the Way
and the Truth, and the Life
No one comes to the Father
if not through Me

Jesus says, I am the Way
