Thanksgiving Rolls

The other day I made a commitment to get my life in order, in a small way. I invited my father over, for Thanksgiving, and my neighbors over, two days later.

So, last night, with my back against the wall after procrastinating, I got everything ready at home. When I left work, I went to the supermarket. They even gave me change for a dollar. Little things add up. Then I made dinner. And consoled a friend over the phone. Then vacuumed the place. And cleaned the kitchen and bathroom floors. And did the laundry.

In the morning I told a story to a coworker that made her laugh. Later, a woman said Happy Thanksgiving! so, I told her I wouldn’t mind coming to work each day if everyone was as pleasant as her. A guy was rude to me when I helped him, but it didn’t bother me. And it was beautiful outside at lunchtime.

I just have to make it through the afternoon and then it’ll be clear sailing.

It’s good to know I have a special place to go to for dinner tonight and I’m entertaining neighbors on Saturday and I have four days off. You could say I’m on a roll.

Happy Thanksgiving!
