We Still Have Each Other

After all the hateful neighbors I have cursed
with so much abundant suffering that still hurts
and the foxes in the garden still around
and the rotten mob that’s constant, in the towns
in your mountains I have fled
in your mountains, finally free

Though we fight and disagree
I still have you
and you still have me

We still have each other

Though no man can understand us, we still stand
and no women in this cesspool of a land
high above’s a kind of love that’s far from crowds
softly in the midst of clouds that’s never loud
in your mountains where I’m fed
in your mountains there’s much food

After all that we’ve been through
you still have me
and I still have you

We still have each other

Every day’s Valentine’s Day when I’m away
in your mountains
I don’t ever want to come down from here

Though we fight and disagree
I still have you
and you still have me

We still have each other

It’s been your strength that’s been like a tower
that I run into
a place where I can hide, too

And after all that we’ve been through
you still have me
and I still have you

We still have each other

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!
